Legislative Advocacy

Throughout our jurisdiction, the WPA NECA Government Affairs team works to advance and protect laws and regulations that directly impact our members and union electrical construction. Our advocacy priorities include promoting fair construction contract laws, high-quality registered apprenticeship programs, prevailing wage and labor law enforcement, accurate and economic development-friendly tax policy, and other issues vital to union electrical contractors.

WPA NECA has a long and proud history of joint advocacy with the NECA Penn-Del-Jersey Chapter and our Local Union partners. Together, we actively engage policymakers, support pro-industry legislation, and oppose policies that threaten the stability of and opportunities for our workforce and our contracting businesses.

To further this mission, WPA NECA established a state-level political action committee (PAC) in 2017 to support state and local elected officials who champion the legislative priorities critical to the success of the union electrical construction industry.

Integrity, creativity, and empathy shape the way we work.
